臺灣的學者在一項研究中指，研究受訪者有百分之十一點七的婦女會遭受嚴重的婚姻暴力困擾（馮燕，1992）。夫妻關係中若有暴力行為發生，它的影響層面是十分廣的。婚姻關係中的任何一方遭配偶的暴力侵害，帶來身心各方面的問題。當一位社會工作者在處理婚姻暴力事件時，面對的施虐者．被虐者、和目睹暴力行為的子女等的服務對象。針對這些服務對象，我們必須有不同的處置目標、處置重點及過程。本文僅就婚姻受虐者為服務對象來探討受虐者的社會工作方法。許多研究者認為，以頓悟及談話為主的個案方法對婚姻受虐者並不通合。多數的實務工作者認為以問題解決及生活調適目標為取向的工作法比較適合應用在婚姻暴力受害者上（Holmes，1978）。這種取向的處遇方法中，認知行為學派的處置方法在實務上是頗是有效果的（Feshback，1980；Rivara，1985）。例如RET理性情緒行為法，麥新樊及貝克的認知方法，阿拉巴馬州反沮喪方案，增強壓力忍受力訓練等的在個案、團體、和聯合夫婦治療上都有明顯的效果。本文以婚姻暴力的受虐者為服務案主，探討認知取向的社會工作方法的原則、可能目標、評估的重點、及工作方法來提供協助婚姻暴力受虐者之工作者的參考。 In the siudies， many rerearchers have suggested that the traditional mental health services are not the strongest methods when working with the conjugal violent family. Some form of cognitive restructuring combined with a skills training procedure seems to offer the better hope for such family. The cognitive behavioral oriented social work methods was introduced in this paper. When we start to work with the conjugal violence victim， the social worker should prepare her(him)self to deal with the resistance from the conjugal violent client. The victims have difficulty to face the abusive behaviors. At the same time the client is also hard to trust the strange worker about her own tragic stories at the beginning. The worker needs to do the appraisals before making any treatment plans. The data regarding abusive behavior， the characteristics of abuser， the victim， the availability of social support systems， the interpretations of the victim to the abusive behavior， and the necessity of immediately protection should be collected and examined. Ellis' REBT (Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy) method has been proved to be one of the effective methods to work with the conjugal violence families. Ellis suggested that the victim's irrational beliefs (such as "He beat me because I have done something stupid") should be challenged. The worker will help the victim to separate herself from the responsibility of the abusive behavior. Strengthening the client's tolerance to frustration， and enhancing the ability to deal with the problem realistically are also the goals for the professional workers who works with the conjugal violence victims.
