Compound 2 was in turn thiocyanated to give (η□ -carbomethoxycyclopentadienyl)tricarbonyl-thiocyanatotungsten (5) in 37% yield with potassium thiocyanate after deiodonation with silver nitrate. The chemical shifts of H(2)-H(5) protons and C(2)- C(5) carbon of 1-5 have been assigned using two-dimensional HetCOR NMR spectroscopy. An analogy was observed between the shielding of C(2, 5) and C(3, 4) carbon atoms of (Cp-H)W(CO)□L derivatives and ferrocene derivatives.
