    Abstract: 新移民經濟弱勢子女高學業成就之探究摘要本研究以臺中市清水區六位新移民經濟弱勢子女為研究對象,主要透過訪談學生、家長及班級導師,輔以問卷調查學生之個人特質,主要目的為探究新移民經濟弱勢子女高學業成就之因素。 本研究發現新移民經濟弱勢子女之個人特質會影響其學業成就表現,親和與嚴謹之人格特質,敢於提問、自我要求高、自尊心強的個性,改善未來生活的學習動機皆會使新移民經濟弱勢子女有較高之學業成就。 另外,本研究也發現新移民經濟弱勢子女之社會支持系統亦會影響其學業成就表現,家庭能提供財務及關心,獲得學校及社區機構經費支持,獲得學校及社區機構所提供課業輔導之社會支持會使新移民經濟弱勢子女有較高之學業成就。 研究者依據研究結果,對教育行政單位、社區機構、學校教師、新移民家庭及後續研究提出相關建議。關鍵字:經濟弱勢、新移民子女、學業成就、個人特質、社會支持系統
    The Study on How Low-income Foreign Spouses’ Children Succeed in Academic Achievement AbstractThe research took six low-income foreign spouses’ children in Qingshui District, Taichung City as the research subjects, was mainly via interviewing students, parents, and homeroom teachers, with the assistance of questionnaire to investigate students’ personal characteristics, and its main purpose was to explore low-income foreign spouses’ children’s factors of success in academic achievement. The research conclusions are as follows: I.The personal characteristics that affected low-income foreign spouses’ children to have high performance in academic achievement: 1.The foreign spouses’ children had the personal characteristics of being with affinity and being rigorous. 2.The foreign spouses’ children had the personalities of being brave to ask questions, having high self-demand, and having strong self-esteem. 3.The foreign spouses’ children had strong learning motivation of improving future life. II.The social support that affected low-income foreign spouses’ children to have high performance in academic achievement: 1.The foreign spouses’ children’s families could offer financial and emotional support. 2.The foreign spouses’ children’s families acquired the financial resources from all sides. 3.The foreign spouses’ children obtained the tutoring assistance from all sides. According to the research findings, the researcher made relevant suggestions for new immigrant families, school teachers, units of educational administration, community institutions, and further research.
