Abstract: The Ce3Pt4 bulk with a Neel temperature near 2.8K was fabricated by arc-method. For researching size effect on the magnetic behavior of Ce3Pt4, the Ce3Pt4 nanoparticles were fabricated by plus-laser deposition method (PLD). The sizes of nanoparticles were estimated about 2.0 ± 0.5 nm by HR-TEM No antiferromagnetic (AF) order could be observed between 2K and 300K by SQUID measurement. The Curie-constant of nanoparticles was about 0.04 (emu K) smaller than bulk (0.807 emu K). The result indicates the most Ce3+ were transition to the Ce4+. The similar behavior was also observed in the CeAl2 and the CePt2 nanoparticles. The measurements of specific-heat shows that a samller Kondo fraction (∼ 1 %) and no AF fraction is observed in nanoparticles ?.
