The purpose of this study is to clarify Japanese speaking ability and assessment criteria for the “Spoken production and Spoken Interaction(OZAKI 1996)” which student have to perform in the contact situation in TAIWAN. First I select the language activities equivalent to CEF A1 to B2, and analyze the language abilities to perform each activity through the discourse analysis based on recorded utterances data by Native Speaker and Native-Nonnative Speaker. Then I compare the utterances of the students and the recording data, analyze what factor determine their outcome. In order to establish more precise assessment criteria, I will adopt not only the assessment criteria of teacher and researcher but also the one of students self-assessment and general people. Lastly I describe language ability required in each task performance, and present refined assessment criteria for each level.
