The research aims to amplify feminist environmental cancer movements by articulating disable studies, and STS studies, feminism and medical sociology. Through examining breast prevention policy in Taiwan and its configuration of knowledge, the research aims to explore the relationships between women’s body, medical power and environmental issues. The research’s subject includes: 1. breast cancer prevention policy in Taiwan and environmental breast cancer movement in the USA.; 2.exploring female breast cancer experience, body imagery and the medical knowledge; 3. exploring breast medical image and visual technology, including mammography, x-ray and mammoplasty. The U.S. breast cancer movements gradually gained public attention in the 1990s, breast cancer activists points out that the issue has been ignored by the medical community for a long time and also were lack of women patients’voices, which shows the marginal position of women’s medical issue. In Taiwan, breast cancer issue lacks of feminist, STS, and sociological perspectives. Through the research, my aim is to use social lens and economic-political approach to examine the breast cancer medical issue in Taiwan.
