    Abstract: 企業社會責任(CSR)是當代資本主義全球化所鑲嵌的重要制度環境,它是一種跨尺度的、市場導向的調控跨國公司資本積累之社會性體制,是開發中國家發展、全球尺度治理和全球公民社會的重要環節,然而 CSR 自從建制以來,始終存在著一種曖昧性,反映著跨國公司利益與其社會責任之間錯綜複雜的緊張關係與矛盾張力,引發了諸多人文地理學研究的興趣。在過去一兩年中,台商資訊電子業公司迅猛地進行了相關 CSR 建制工作,吸引了申請者的好奇與興趣。本研究計畫試圖從「跨界組織治理」的角度切入,探討這一現象,並綜合相關理論視角進一步加以深化。我們的基本問題是:這一兩年來電子業台商的「企業社會責任化」現象,受到怎樣的機制影響呢?實施的結果是怎樣?對電子業台商在全球生產網絡與跨界制度環境中的發展,又有怎樣的意涵呢? 以近來爆發許多社會責任問題、從而致力於 CSR 建制的智慧型手機之兩岸生產網絡為案例,我們將探究價值鏈治理、企業社會責任體制、品牌策略與區域產業體系這四者之間的互動關係與交互作用,並以 iPhone 和 HTC 這兩個不同品牌的跨界供應網絡導入社會責任體制之治理過程,來進行深入的比較研究,從而得到對於經濟全球化與兩岸區域經濟社會發展之更完整圖像。
    Corporate social responsibility(CSR) is the rising market-oriented institutional environment that regulate the means and process of TNCs’capital accumulation.Nowadays the CSR regime had relevantly contributed to the thematic issues ofglobal governance, global civil society and international development. However,there exists significant ambiguity and contradictory regarding the capability forsuch privatized regulation system to sustain the international standards of labourand environment. On the other hand, recently many Taiwanese electroniccompanies and component suppliers engaged in the establishment of CSR systemafter a lot of labour and environment conflicts happened in both China andTaiwan. This project aims to explore this wave of ’CSR-ization’in Taiwaneseelectronic production networks from the perspective of trans-border organizationalgovernance. What’s the driving mechanism for the phenomenon of TaiwaneseCSR-ization? How does it operate as well as influencing the organizationalgovernance in the global production networks? Could such CSR-ization contributeto protect the labour and environment conditions in China and Taiwan? Take theiPhine and HTC’s smart phone production networks as cases, we will investigatethe interactive tensions and inter-relationships among the value chain governance,CSR institutionalization, branding strategies and regional industrial system inTaiwan and China to further understand the contradictions as well as dynamics ofcapitalist globalization.
