As the population structure gradually move towards an aging society and the low birth rate, one-third of the elderly will live into the nursing homes for their old age in the future. However, today all different levels of nursing institutions can not provide the elderly proper care services during the indoor or outdoor activities. The key problem is the lack of an effective health care management system unless the human resource issue. Thus, this study attempted to develop a set of concept products based on the the optimized health care system for assisting the nursing homes to provide the elderly mobile services in the indoors and outdoors cares. This study embedded wireless local area networks (WLAN), wireless sensor networks (ZigBee), and radio frequency identification (RFID) technology to develop a set of health care products for optimizing the health care management system. To continuously real-time monitor the physiological signals including heart bit, blood pressure, temperature values and transfer these information to the care facility monitoring systems (host) for the elderly long-term helth care management, it can make the elderly gain the most immediate and proper health care. Finally, the project developed four concept products including (1) U-Care; (2) U-Mobile; (3) U-Info and (4) U-Joy. We hope to provide the elderly who living in the nursing homes more living quality and better health care. Meanwhile, it can also provide the caregivers more convenience for reducing the work-loading. when they care the elderly. |
