Being considered a small sub-field in the study of Chinese poetry, the topic of Airscape poetry had not gained much attention from researchers until the recent years. Thus, many interesting materials in this area have not been formally investigated nor thoroughly understood. The same happens for cultural themes of Late Tang, which is the period of interest of this study. In chapter 2 Evolutions of Airscape poetry before Late Tang, we select some poets from early Qin, periods before Qin, Han Wei Six Dynasty, Early Tang, Middle Tang and Prosperous Tang based on their representativeness and then briefly discuss them in contexts of the contemporary culture. In chapter 3 Cultural Background of the Prevalence of Airscape poetry in Late Tang, we first discuss the reasons for roaming to become a prevailing leisure activity for scholars in Late Tang. Then we follow the course of the roaming culture to explain how the culture of Airscape was cultivated in the era background and how it was further developed due to its personal influences. In chapter 4 The important writers of Late Tang Airscape poetry, we extract some Airscape poetries from poetries composed by productive poets in different periods of Late Tang and discuss their contents and styles.
