Generative Timescape at Jiu-Fen: Links in-between Mountain and Sea. Miscellaneous forces generate a city over time. We can sense the history of a city by browsing those architectural vestiges remained in the development process. There are plentiful vestiges in Jiu-Fen, a mountain village which has been repetitively reclaimed by political and economic forces. However, many buildings generated by those forces block the linkage between the mountain and the ocean. Excessive commercial interferences also breaks intimate connections between people and built environments. Nowadays people can only experience symbolic facades and artificial in Jui-Fen. The spatial contexts of varied historical vestiges are hidden. With a non-linear circulation system, the design intends to create a series of spatial experiences by unveiling historical vestiges of facades, topological bases and relic buildings to re-constuct the links between people and history, mountain and sea. Furthermore, the design would be a new driver to generatively make Jiu-Fen to evolve.
