    Abstract: 台灣工具機產業經過約六十年來的發展,直至2009年已高居世界第六大生產國以及第四大出口國。目前台灣工具機產業面臨市場成熟化、全球化及顧客嗜好改變的外部環境威脅,本研究發現已有領導廠商開始引進日本式生產系統進行生產系統創新來因應外部環境的威脅,以期達產業的下一個高峰。基於此,本研究試圖釐清台灣工具機產業生產系統創新的內涵。日本東京大學教授藤本隆宏(Fujimoto Takahiro)提出的「組織能力構築競爭模型」指出組織能力會直接影響深層競爭力,再影響表層競爭力最後表現在組織獲利能力上。本研究探討台灣工具機產業生產系統創新可以區分成兩個部份,「生產系統創新與內部績效的關係」及「組織能力與生產系統創新的關連性」,此兩種關係與藤本隆宏教授提出的能力構築競爭模型中組織能力直接影響深層競爭力的思維相似,因此本研究根據組織能力構築競爭模型加以應用修改為本研究的分析架構,並依此分析架構,探討台灣工具機領導企業生產系統創新的內涵與內部績效的關係,及組織機制與生產系統創新的關連性。本研究為探索性研究,並經由個案暨實證研究之結果,本研究發現個案公司引進日本式生產系統進行的生產系統創新,確實有助於內部績效的提升。首先建立與落實組織機制,以改善組織的體質,其後才能開始陸續推動生產系統創新,組織機制在生產系統創新中扮演著重要支柱的角色。
    Taiwan Machine Tool industry has gone through sixty years, and occupied at top- six production country and top-four exporting country in the world until 2009. Nowadays, it faces at the stage of market maturity, globalization and external environment threats such as changes in customer preferences. It has been discovered in this paper that there already have some leading firms proceeded production system innovation to respond the external environment threats by introducing the Japan-Style Production System in order to achieve the next industrial peak. In this study, we try to understand and clarify the contents of Production System Innovation in Taiwan Machine Tool industry.Based on the theory of“capability-building competition”proposed by Professor Fujimoto Takahiro of Tokyo University, Japan, it points out that organizational capability could directly affect deep-level of performance, and then affect to the surface-level of performance, finally appear to profit performance. In this paper, the study of production system innovation of Taiwan Machine-Tool industry could divided into two parts, one is“the relationship of production system innovation and internal performance”, the other one is“the correlation of organizational capability and production system innovation”. These two parts are familiar with the concept proposed by Professor Fujimoto Takahiro. Therefore, we try to modify the“capability-building competition”model as an analysis framework for the study, and use it to investigate the relationship between production system innovation and internal performance as well as the correlation of organizational mechanism and production system innovation in Taiwan Machine Tool leading firms. Based on the results of empirical analysis, this study discovered that the case introduced Japan-Style production system proceeding production system innovation actually brought upgrades on internal performance. The first step is building and realizing organizational mechanism to improve the constitution of organization. Then, launch production system innovation step-by-step. From the result of this study, it could prove that organizational mechanism plays an important role on production system innovation activities.
