資訊科技(Information Technology；IT)的發展一日千里，進步迅速。許多研究也指出，不論大型企業或中小企業，保持技術的不斷革新與進步，是求生存、圖發展的必要條件。另外，新產品太慢推出到市場，可能成為企業發展的最大障礙。由此可知，適當的引用IT，加速產品研發的進行適當的產品研發資訊系統應該具備那些功能？其建構方法為何？企業如何在有限的人力、物力下完成符合產品研發需求的資訊系統？以上皆為企業在建構產品研發資訊系統所需考量的重點。本研究對於產品研發資訊系統之整合與建構模式進行探討，此建構模式同時考慮系統”智慧性”與”整合性”。本研究並以上述發展之整合性資訊架構與知識表示法，進行一實作系統，以驗證本研究成果之可行性。 Product research and development has been identified as a major factor to a company''s survivability.
