To maintain the competitive niche, the modern enterprises have to make their quick and proper decisions when facing the complicated and fast-changing world. The traditional Management Information System(MIS) can only provide a series of structural reports at the current stage; therefore, it can not offer necessary assistance to the executives in decision making process. In order to improve the inefficiency of the traditional MIS, and to satisfy the executive’s needs on decision making, we have to develop an information system that takes the executive’s strategies into consideration. Therefore, the purpose of my research is to develop and build up an Executive Information System (EIS) structure which fits into the needs of domestic enterprises to avoid the developing failure. In the beginning of my thesis, I point out the steps of establishing the information system, which are “system analysis”, “system design”, “system establishment”, and “system test”, according to the system development life cycle point of view. Among them, my research is focusing on system analysis and system design. In the aspect of system analysis, the analytic focus is the decision-making needs of the executives as well as the related decision-makers. Due to the complexity of the informative needs in decision-making, I further extend to develop an integrative analytic structure for the EIS needs in my research. The structure integrates the related marketing, production, and financial decision making information into Current Managerial Information Analysis and Potential Managerial Forecast Analysis. The Current Managerial Information Analysis is focusing on assisting the executive in having a thorough understanding of the enterprise’s current managerial nature when making strategies and decisions. And the Potential Managerial Forecast Analysis is focusing on helping the executive to have a more precise forecast by utilizing the historical data as well as the internal and external environment factors. The complete information generated from the fully utilization of the above two analysis will effectively support the executive in precise decision making. In the industry realization, my theory is executed and applied in VICTOR Taichung. The result of the application indicates the EIS structure is very applicable.
