In 1973, two business-related departments, Business Administration and International Business, were created in Tunghai’s College of Arts. In 1976 these two departments, along with the newly-established Department of Accounting formed the College of Business. In 1983, the name was changed to the College of Management.
Currently the College of Management has six departments, six master programs, and one doctoral program. These departments are Business Administration, International Business, Accounting, Statistics, Finance, Information Management, and four EMBA programs. These three EMBA programs have received high recognition in Taiwan’s business world and were recognized among the most popular programs by a well known magazine, CHEERS Common Wealth.
In the 2009 academic year, the College had 3,800 undergraduate students, 490 graduate students and 168 faculty members, 74 full-time and 94 part-time.
The aim of the College of Management is to educate successful business managers. Strong emphasis is placed on the cultivation of the whole person in a liberal, democratic and diversified academic atmosphere, in accordance with the spirit of the University motto: “Truth, Faith, and Deeds.” For the past thirty years, our graduates have been devoting themselves to many diverse professions. Their outstanding achievements have earned wide recognition and high praise for Tunghai’s College of Management.
