台北市文化局推動將傳統與文化資產融入與發揚於當代生活中不遺餘力，並於台北市建城120週年時推出Taipei City Museum計劃，目的在於保存與再利用文化資產、傳統藝術等，並使它們重新參與台灣現代的市民生活，而且還要與人類文明的發展接軌，形塑整個台北文化與歷史的整體風貌與特色，讓參觀者可以了解台北的過去、現在與未來。本設計論文以文化局的計劃與目標作為出發點找到適合的基地-台北城，試圖從舊台北城「進城與出城」的空間故事性來討論這個Museum應該如何透過垂直向度的空間置換(interchange)，得以被鋪展在都市裡面。當「進城與出城」的敘事軸線重新疊合在當代城市、既存建築物與歷史建築物時，配合適當的空間內容，將台北城的過去、現在與未來將同時呈現在眼前，產生跨越時間與空間的對話。本設計認為進城與出城的界面是利用敘事軸線的鋪陳與移轉，讓人感知一連串空間的經驗與故事性，引導人們遊移於進出之間。因此在設計操作上，確定長沙街-漢中街-衡陽路為主要進出城路徑後，重新分析與建立清代與日治時期進出台北城時在視點與路徑上空間經驗與故事性，接著堆疊不同時代的空間經驗內容圖。將垂直空間置換(interchange)插入在歷史圖層產生有意義改變的空間，以控制參觀者在改變視線高度時，透過現代街道地面高程作為現實平台，轉換到代表不同時代都市空間故事性的虛擬歷史平台。Taipei City Museum的目標得以實現。 Taipei City Government Department of Culture Affairs spares no pains to make the traditional and cultural assets blossom in modern life. In order to preserve and reutilize cultural assets and traditional arts,the plan of Taipei City Museum was made on the 120th anniversary of the foundation of Taipei City. Pushing them into modern life and connecting with human civilization are the ways to form an overall image of Taipei and make the visitors able to understand Taipei's past,present and future.The Ximen(west gate)area of old Taipei City is the best site for the thesis design according to the proposal by Taipei City Government Department of Culture Affairs. The thesis aims to investigate how to spread the programs of Taipei City Museum onto/into the site with a spatial narrative and time based sectional interchanges. The historical dialogue will be extracted while spatial narrative of going into and out of the city superimposing the contemporary city.The interface of going into and out of city is defined and perceived by the transferring of the series of spatial narrative. After confirming that the path through Changsha St.-Hanzhong St.-Hengyang Rd. is the main path to go into city,the thesis analyzes and sets up a spatial narrative utilizing reconstructed historic,in association with the original route in the Ching Dynasty and Japanese colonial path. Subsequently superimpose the diagrams of the different periods,and insert the sectional interchanges where the space has been altered through out the yeas. When the vistors change the height of their sights,they will experience the spatial sequences and the virtual historical platforms.
