In this thesis I expect to propose a possible spatial handling method in Sha-Tzai-di, the foreside of Kaohsiung, the biggest industry metropolis of Taiwan , while it’s facing the urban transforming with sea , industry and arts. This region used to be famed for its marine transit and heavy hardware and now becoming a popular residential view spot . And the characters of thisplace-marine transit and heavy metal are going to be used as the strategy and concept of this design. I hopefully expect to subvert the negative impression of most people towards machinery (marine transit/ heavy hardware) through the artistic per-formance advanced by this thesis and use them as positive local characters in the exploratory art village with high mobility, which might also be a possibility for Kaohsiung city while dealing urban planning reforming and cultural environment. The discussions In article will be:To take the operation and character of heavy hardware and container industry as the basis to manipulate spatial units. Gallery, film project area, sound stage... will be regarded as grand block (fully integrated major components) operatingin a system which enables the art village to have a changeable, reorganized plan. Similar to hardware or container transpor-tation,the mechenical modular system provides rules of the deployment. That helps satisfy different themes and programsin different times in the same field. To integrate cultural and art programs of Kaohsiung in this experimental art village and transform the main theme pro-grams as “in process” activities, which performs the whole processes from preparation, opening to closing to Kaohsiungcity and creates much more interaction between art programs and citizen.A field filled with exploratory and experiment in a industrial ocean city seeking its identity of artistic culture, I therefore call it a art experimental field.
