本系旨在培育高科技所需理論與實務兼俱之電機、電子專業研發人才,強調學生應具備積極、創新、追求自我成長之態度及發掘、分析與解決問題之能力,並養成學生擁有跨領域能力、溝通協調技巧、團隊合作精神、國際觀視野及工程倫理素養。
- 本系背景
本系設立背景乃因應產業界電子電機人才供不應求,並以增強IC設計、通訊與奈米科技等發展為宗旨。本系重視基礎學理及實務應用之整合,以期養成之學生符合學術界以及企業界之需求。

本系於九十六學年度正式成立,隸屬於工學院,招收大學部單班學生、研究所單班學生。
- 發展方向
本系(所)的成立,不但有獨特性、理想性、需求性,並且對未來具有洞察性。本系將透過教學、研究與服務,以達成五大目標。(一)建立良好的電機工程教學環境(二)致力提升研發能量(三)務實教學與推動產學合作(四)培養新科技能力且兼具技術管理之人才(五)推動國際性學術合作
- 研究與教學方向
為兼顧未來產業發展動向與本校環境,訂定三大發展領域:以無線通訊與網路為主軸,積體電路設計、奈米電子與材料為輔。無線通訊與網路領域以通訊系統設計、射頻與微波電路設計、車載資通訊及網路技術、網路安全為主。積體電路設計領域以數位/類比VLSI設計、VLSI訊號處理與設計、通訊積體電路設計、SoC系統整合晶片設計為方向。奈米電子與材料領域以利用奈米電子材料之成熟技術,發展半導體、能源轉換、光觸媒等相關材料技術。因此本系發展目標明確,可於短時間內成為有特色之科系。
Department of Electrical Engineering
The Department of Electrical Engineering (DEE) aims to cultivate electrical engineering talents that are well-versed in both the theoretical as well as the practical side of electrical engineering. We emphasize productivity, creativity, and self growth in the students. Our students are also taught to ascertain, analyze, and troubleshoot problems, inculcating in the students the ability to cross domain-barriers, communicate and co-ordinate, and instilling in them team spirit, international view, and appropriate work ethics.
- Background
The department is set up to address the shortage of electrical engineers in the electronic industry. Our goal is to undertake studies that will enhance IC design, communication, and Nano technology, putting emphasis on combination of basic theory and practical application. We aim to cultivate a group of students that will meet the needs and demands of the academic circle as well as the business world.
- History
The department was established in 2007, under the College of Engineering. It offers undergraduate program as well as master program.
- Future development
The department is established to have its own uniqueness, idealism, and needs. Future developments aim to, through teaching, research and service, achieve the following five goals.
- Build a good teaching environment for electrical engineering;
- Improve research and development efforts;
- Practical teaching and promotion of academic-enterprise cooperation project;
- Cultivate new technology capability and skill management talents;
- Promote international academic co-operation.
- Research and teaching method
Considering the future of academic-enterprise cooperation project and the academic environment of Tunghai University, the department has decided on three major areas of development with Wireless Communication and Network as the primary focus, and Integrated Circuit design and Nano Electronic Material and Energy Resource Technology on the side.
The department has a clear view of its objects of development, which are:
- Wireless Communication and Networking: Our focus is on Communication System Design, Radio Frequency and Microwave Circuit Design, Telematics and Network Technology, and Internet Security.
- Integrated Circuit Design: Our interest is channeled towards Digital/Analog VLSI Design, VLSI Signal Processing and Design, Communication Integrated Circuit Design, and SIC/SoC System Integrated Chip Design.
- Nano Electronic Material and Energy Resource Technology: We shall attempt to apply Nano material, which has very special physical and chemical properties, in technologies such as advanced Green Energy, Luminescence, Bio-Technology, and Semi-Conductor based Industry.
